The Salzburg City Card is the central experience ticket for visitors to the city of Mozart and, with around 300,000 cards sold per year, is one of the most successful CityCards in the medium-sized European city segment. 

A key factor in its success is the dense distribution network across a large number of accommodations, where physical cards are issued at no additional cost and are only activated when first used. In addition, cards are increasingly being offered online as MobileCards or Print@Home tickets.

Another central component of the project is the seamless connection of major service partners via the feratel CheckAPI interface. This has enabled existing access, cash register, and control systems at leading attractions to be connected directly without investing in additional verification hardware or new admission processes.

The Salzburg City Card shows how the combination of a strong distribution network, open system integration, and digital infrastructure can sustainably strengthen a successful CityCard model—efficient in operation and convenient for guests.

Over the years, digitization with feratel has transformed the Salzburg City Card into a modern and extremely practical product.
